When coming to the Emergency Department, you may not be seen in the order you arrive. You will first be seen by a triage nurse who will evaluate the severity of your condition and determine how quickly you need to be treated. Patients with life threatening emergencies will be seen before those whose injuries are not as critical. We will make every effort to minimize your waiting time and will communicate to you when delays occur.

During your visit, you may require laboratory or radiology studies. Please be aware that some studies take time to complete and may require staffing assistance from other departments. The time spent in the Emergency Department may also be extended if another physician or specialist is called in to evaluate you for possible admission.
